Julie - I had (have) a child like this. He was very difficult and yet so brilliant. My two following him were not this way at all. My oldest, now 21, is out on his own, with his own business. I did learn though that my "story" of how I saw his life, was not his story. School was difficult, friends were difficult. Therapy helped both of us at difficult times. It can cause a lot of pain, but in the end, the love and perserverence is what they remember. Find support.

What a lovely present from a sweet little guy. I know exactly what you mean Julie about your children being so different. I have two daughters..Stefanie is 4 years older than Lindsay...and they are as different as night and day. I read your journal entry and had flashbacks to Lindsay's younger years...I recall feeling the same exact way. I swear there were days when I'm sure that people either thought I just beat her to make her act that way, or that she was a psychotic child! Lindsay is now 19...a very lovely young committed woman of faith...full of life...with a very bright future. There are days that I still just shake my head in wonder...but thank God for this child who has brought me so much joy and laughter. Just love him Julie like you are....you are doing the right thing.

Don't you just love these handmade presents? They are so much more special than ones from a store. I received pins from two of my kids that are HUGE and in the shape of a mushroom. They are not really pretty, but my children made them, so that makes them special.
